MANILA, Philippines – A tornado forming was caught on camera as it landfalls in Manila, Sunday afternoon, August 14.

Netizens even shared their own sighting of the tornado. Karen Madrigal caught the tornado’s progression in a timelapse.


While another netizen, Joemarie Bacos caught it ‘up-close-and-personal.’


Even Sen. Dick Gordon shared his own video on Twitter as the tornado damaged their office in Manila.


Witnesses claimed that the tornado landfall in Manila around 5:00 in the afternoon. It hit Intramuros passed Burgos then made its way to Lawton, at the back of the Central Post Office.

The storm is said to be ‘carrying’ uprooted trees, plywood, roofs ripped from homes.

Even houses in Sampaloc, Manila were not spared in the wrath of the tornado.


According to a report by GMA News, weather bureau’s Aldczar Aurelio said that they monitored a thunderstorm in their radar that may have cause the tornado.

As of press time, no injured civilians were reported.
