'The Voice Kids' pilot hits high TV ratings nationwide (May 24-25)

Manila, Philippines - Filipinos nationwide tuned in to the much-awaited pilot telecast of “The Voice Kids” and watched the first batch of young artists performed to impress coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Lea Salonga in the show’s Blind Auditions.

According to data from Kantar Media, “The Voice Kids” topped the list of the most watched programs last weekend. On Saturday (May 24), it recorded a national TV rating of 33.3%, or 21 points higher than GMA-7’s “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko,” which only got 11.9%. It also hit a national TV rating of 35.8% last Sunday (May 25), crushing rival program “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” (15.8%).

On Twitter, the hashtag #TheVoiceKidsPhilippines became the number one worldwide trending topic on both nights. Several artists and songs featured in the show also figured on the list of nationwide and worldwide trending topics as viewers posted their thoughts on the micro-blogging site while watching the show.

By the end of the Sunday's episode of "The Voice Kids", Manalac is leading with four artists on his team: Nathan Bautista, Zack Tabuldo, June Mark Armecin and Grazz Rodriquez. Meanwhile, Geronimo has two artists on her team namely: Lyca Gairanod and JM and JC Urquico.

Salonga was not able to have additional artist on her team. Previous recruited young artists were Garcia, 11-year-old Koko Luy, and 9-year-old Darlene Vibares.
