Janet Napoles transferred to Ospital ng Makati (OsMak)

Manila, Philippines - The alleged brains behind the controversial Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam Janet Lim-Napoles has been transferred from Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta Rosa, Laguna to the Ospital ng Makati on Monday evening, March 31, 2014 to undergo operation to remove a tumor found in her uterus.

Napoles has been escorted by Senior Superintendent Roberto Fajardo, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. Six (6) vehicles were part of the convoy, including two ambulances.

Napoles has been detained at the Fort Sto. Domingo since 2013 for the illegal detention of pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.

Last February 26, Napoles underwent check-up at the Philippine National Police General Hospital (PNP-GH) after complaining abdominal pain and menstrual bleeding in November 2013.

The doctors at PNP-GH said they found a mass in Napoles' uterus but her condition is "not life threatening."

On March 21, Napoles together with her legal counsel went to the Makati Regional Trial Court and personally appealed that she be allowed to undergo surgery and hospital confinement for the same reason.

On March 28, Makati Regional Trial Court granted the petition of Napoles for hospital treatment. Though she had wanted to be confined at St Luke's Medical Center in Taguig but the court only allowed her at the Ospital ng Makati.
