#WalangPasok: Updated list of class suspensions on Thursday, July 27, 2017

MANILA, Philippines - Some local government units (LGUs) and schools in Metro Manila and Luzon announced class suspensions for Thursday, July 27, 2017, due to inclement weather brought by southwest monsoon, which is being enhanced by Tropical Storm Gorio.

UPDATE: As per Malacañang, work in all government offices & public schools in NCR are suspended starting 1 pm, July 27.
As of 10:00 a.m. today (Thursday), the center of 'Bagyong Gorio' was estimated based on available data at 600 km East of Casiguran, Aurora. This weather system enhances Southwest Monsoon which brings moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the western section of Luzon and light to moderate rains over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

State weather bureau PAGASA also issued on Thursday a heavy rainfall warning for Metro Manila and Rizal.

Meanwhile, light to moderate to occasional heavy rains is affecting Quezon, Batangas, Laguna, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales.

  • Caloocan – all levels, public and private
  • Las Piñas City – all levels, public and private
  • Malabon – all levels, public and private
  • Manila – all levels, public and private
  • Mandaluyong City – all levels, public and private
  • Marikina City- all levels, public and private
  • Muntinlupa City – all levels, public and private
  • Navotas – all levels, public and private
  • Parañaque City – all levels, public and private
  • Pasay City – all levels, public and private
  • Pateros – all levels, public and private
  • Quezon City – all levels, public and private
  • San Juan – all levels, public and private
  • Taguig – all levels, public and private
  • Valenzuela City – preschool to senior high school, public and private

Based on automatic class suspension guideline, LGUs have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
