On Tuesday, July 18, the regulatory board demanded that the two application-based transport service providers to comply or do business elsewhere.

LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III said: “If there would be a right-minded, law-abiding TNC who will be supportive of this, [we will support them], but for those TNCs who are not supportive or compliant, get your business elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada said that the two transport giants already amassed “millions” from letting more than 30,000 drivers out of 56,000 to continue operating for the past year without registering at the LTFRB.

Memes criticizing LTFRB’s controversial decision as well as the hashtag #WeWantUberGrab trended on Twitter. Several commuters even shared their taxi horror stories on social media.
