Pascual and Balais’ friendship started during their freshman year at the Mariano Marcos State University College of Education. Throughout their four-year journey at the university, the two became study buddies and served as each other’s cheerleader.

Their hard work paved off as they both graduated cum laude last April. But their friendship didn’t fade even after graduation.

During their preparation for the board exam, the two decided to go on separate ways as they enrolled in different review centers. Still, they managed to see each other after review sessions to catch up and share lesson materials.

When the LET results came on Monday, the pals were more than thrilled to know that they have achieved the ultimate “friendship goal.” Aside from the fact that they were among the 54,700 who passed the board exam, both managed to be among the Top 10 passers.

Garnering a rating of 86.80%, Pascual placed 7th in the board exam, while Balais, who scored 86.20%, clinched the 10th spot.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Pascual said she is thankful that all her family’s sacrifices have paid off.

"Hindi ko inexpect, I asked for a place pero hindi ganun kataas. Sobra akong thankful kasi nagbunga ang mga paghihirap ko at sacrifices ng family ko," Pascual told ABS-CBN News.

Balais, on the other hand, disclosed that she is happy that both of them passed the exam. According to her, she would saddened if one them didn’t pass the exam.

The inseparable pals are currently working in the same call center company, but both are planning to teach in their alma mater at the end of their contract.

Their friendship has definitely come a long way and it looks like they will be travelling the same road together for quite some time.
