Though the post has long been deleted, Facebook page EV Learners got hold of a screenshot from a Facebook user named “Jeffrey Claude Palma”. In the post, Palma is said to be part of the Philippine distributor of “Train to Busan,” Rafaella Films International.

According to Palma’s statement, he’s forewarning Filipino netizens that Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (commonly known as Cyber Crime Law) is now in action. Palma cautions that individuals can now be sued “for buying bootlegs or downloading, sharing movies, videos, music and other copyrighted files”

He stated that acquiring copyrighted material is punishable by law with a fine between Php 200,000 to Php 500,000 with six to twenty years in prison.

“Under the Cybercrime Law, acquiring any digital copy of any copyrighted material is now punishable by a fine between Php 200,000 (US$4,470) to Php 500,000 (US$11,175) and six to 20 years in prison,” Palma wrote.

Palma ended his post that they are now tracking down those who distributed pirated copies of the film on Facebook and other social media sites, with no hesitation to sue violators.

“WE, RAFAELLA FILMS INTERNATIONAL, PHILIPPINE DISTRIBUTOR OF “TRAIN TO BUSAN”, IS NOW TRACKING DOWN HERE ON FACEBOOK AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SITES ALL INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED AND WILL FILE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST THEM! WE SERIOUSLY CONDEMN VIDEO PIRACY AND ANY OTHER FORMS!”
