Sandra Cam to reveal more about De Lima

MANILA, Philippines - Whistleblowers Association of the Philippines President Sandra Cam has threatened to disclose more dirt on Senator Leila De Lima after the latter shrugged off President Rodrigo Duterte’s “matrix” showing her and her former driver Ronnie Dayan’s apparent involvement in illegal drug trade inside the National Bilibid Prison (NBP).

Speaking to reporters at Camp Crame on Thursday, August 25, Cam, who has attempted to expose the former Justice Secretary in 2012, said she will reveal more evidence against De Lima.

“I’m very willing to face her fair and square dahil 2012 pa kaming nagkakabanggan, kahit pinagtatawanan ako noon. At least now I feel vindicated. For so many years like I was a voice in a wilderness na walang umiintindi, walang nakikinig,” Cam said.

Protecting Jaybee Sebastian

According to Cam, the neophyte senator has spared convicted drug lord Jaybee Sebastian from surprise raids in NBP as he was De Lima’s friend. She also divulged that a certain Charlie Quidato, a Bilibid inmate who was killed, informed her that Sebastian knew he was tipping off intelligence operatives about the drug lord’s connections with De Lima.

Cam said: “One week before ‘yung kasama ni Jaybee Sebastian napatay, si Charlie Quidato, sinabi niya sa akin feeling niya mamamatay siya dahil nalaman ni Jaybee na isa siya sa nagbibigay ng information sa akin at doon sa mga taga intelligence.”

(One week before a companion of Jaybee Sebastian was killed, Charlie Quidato told me that he felt that he was going to be killed soon since Jaybee knew he was giving information to me and intelligence operatives.)

Helping Reyes Brothers Escape

The former whistleblower also accused De Lima of helping then fugitives former Palawan governor Joel Reyes and his brother, former Coron town mayor Mario Reyes to escape the country. De Lima was a former election lawyer of the Reyes brothers, who are accused of masterminding the murder of broadcaster and environmentalist Gerry Ortega.

In 2015, the two were captured by authorities in Thailand.

The Reyes brothers were able to get through authorities and go in hiding in Vietnam after their passports were allegedly secretly signed by an Immigration officer inside their car. Cam said the Reyes brothers’ driver could testify that such incident occurred.

Moreover, Cam alleged De Lima of coddling fugitive former police Senior Supt. Cezar Mancao II. Cam stressed that De Lima was accompanied by the former police officer in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley during the campaign period.
