LIVESTREAM: President Rodrigo Duterte Inauguration video now up

MANILA, Philippines - Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the 16th President of the Philippines is set to take oath in the inauguration ceremony at the Malacañan Palace today, June 30, 2016. The nation will witness another chapter of our history through livestream video feed from the presidential broadcast channels.

The new Chief Executive of the country will be welcomed by more than 600 guests at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall.

On eve of the ceremony, Duterte arrived at the Villamor Airbase with his partner Honeylet Avanceña, their 12-year-old daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, and incoming special assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.

The inaugural rites will will start before 10:30 a.m. and will end before 4 p.m. Duterte is expected to arrive at the Palace at 10:30 a.m. Outgoing president Benigno Aquino III will welcome the new leader.

At exactly 12:00 noon, the President-elect will be sworn into office by Supreme Court Justice Bienvenido L. Reyes.

The incoming leader will deliver his inaugural speech after the administration of oath of office and will be accorded full military honors by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Incoming Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that Duterte will wear barong Tagalog designed by Boni Adaza.

Filipino voters within the country and overseas gave their overwhelming support to Duterte in the May 2016 elections with 16,601,997 votes.

Since being officially proclaimed, thousands of well-wishers and supporters have been traveling to Davao City to personally extend their congratulations to Duterte. These include the members from the diplomatic corps, business executives, sectoral groups, and government officials.

Aside from the inaugural ceremony, the incoming President will host a reception for the diplomatic community, lead the mass oath-taking of all his appointed Cabinet Members, and preside his first Cabinet meeting as Chief Executive.
