#GoogleMoMuna: Youtube stars urge Filipinos to be in-the-know for 2016 elections

MANILA, Philippines - As the national election is fast approaching, Youtube stars have joined forces to encourage Filipinos to be in-the-know of the various and latest issues of the country.

The campaign of Google Philippines called #GoogleMoMuna aims for the active participations and healthy dicussions equipping ourselves with the right information.

“Google believes that part of being a significant part of the country’s development as citizens is arming ourselves with the right information. There are a lot of resources online," says Gail Tan, Google Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs.

"We encourage everyone to seize that advantage and be part of informed conversations that will address issues in our country,” Tan added.

The video which can be accessed at the YouTube Elections Channel featured Erwan Heussaff, Chris Cantada, Say Tioco, , Sponge Cola (Yael, Armo, Gosh, TMac), Saul Ulanday, Wil Dasovich, Ashley Gosiengfiao and Mr. Jason Magbanua.


"Instead of mudslinging and spreading hate, let's promote knowledge and information," video uploader PaperbugTV said.

Netizen Raine Bough has commented: "One of the great assets of any country is a well-informed citizenry. A well-informed citizenry will likely become an empowered citizenry. Yes, we should not believe everything that we hear or read. Let's do our part. Know the issues, research about them. Make use of technologies so we can have a better understanding of things. After all, our decisions will not only affect our lives but the lives as well of the people we love."
