Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts Occidental Mindoro on October 19, 2015

MANILA, Philippines - (SECOND UPDATE) The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 5.4 earthquake that hit Looc, Occidental Mindoro on Monday night, October 19, 2015.

The exact time of occurrence was recorded at 09:50:41 PM with epicenter 13.83°N, 120.39°E - 019 km N 51° E.

The earthquake that occurred has a tectonic origin with 101 km depth of focus.

The quake was felt at Intensity V in Batangas City and Intensity IV in Tagaytay City; Puerto Galera; Oriental Mindoro; Mandaluyong City; Makati City; Pasay City; Parañaque City and Muntinlupa City.

Phivolcs also said the quake was felt at Intensity III in Clark, Pampanga; General Trias, Cavite; Malolos, Bulacan; Bacoor, Cavite; Obando, Bulacan; Quezon City; Agoncillo, Batangas; Taguig City; Talisay, Batangas and at Intensity II in Pateros, Manila; Antipolo City; Lucban, Quezon.

There is no expected damage after the quake but Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks.
