DOTC offers free MRT, LRT and Pasig River Ferry rides on September 19, 2014

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) will provide free rides in the MRT-3, LRT Lines 1 and 2 and Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) for all government employees on Friday, September 19, 2014.

The offer of the agency is part of the month long celebration of the 114th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September 2014 and in coordination with the Management of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT), the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

LRT-1 links Roosevelt in Quezon City to Baclaran while LRT-2 links Recto in Manila to Santolan. MRT-3 links North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City via Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

Details of the free rides are as follows:

MRT-3

1. The free ride is valid only on September 19 from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.

2. All government employees shall present their valid government IDs and log their names with the security guard assigned as the service gate before they can avail of the free ride. They shall be issued boarding passes.

LRT Lines 1 and 2

1. Only bonafide government employees with valid and updated ID cards shall be allowed to avail of the free ride and entry through the service gate. The "No ID, no Free Ride" rule wil apply.

2. All government employees shall present their valid government IDs to Station Teller. Free ride is from 9:00AM to 6:00PM only.


Pasig River Ferry Service

1. Free ride shall be from 6:55 to 4:45 PM on September 19, 2014 at all Pasig River Ferry Stations currently in operations: Intramuros, Escolta, PUP, Sta. Ana, Guadalupe, San Joaquin and Pinagbuhatan.

2. All government employees shall present their valid government IDs.
