PAGASA releases 'Bagyong Glenda' weather update (July 13, 2014)

Manila, Philippines - The weather bureau PAGASA released first severe weather bulletin for 'Bagyong Glenda' with international name of Rammasun on Sunday evening, July 13, 2014. Typhoon 'Glenda' which is now at the eastern portion of Bicol region is about to enter Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight.

PAGASA releases 'Bagyong Glenda' weather update (July 13, 2014)


At 6:00 PM today, the Tropical Storm “GLENDA” was estimated based on all available data at 1,100 km East of Legaspi City (13.1°N, 135.1°E).

It has a maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 30 kph.

Tropical Storm“GLENDA” is expected to be at 570 km East of Legaspi City by tomorrow afternoon and at 170 km Northeast of Legaspi City or 100 km East of Virac, Catanduanes by Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday afternoon, it is expected to be in the vicinity of Cabanatuan City.

The estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

PAGASA clarified that 'Bagyong Glenda' will not yet affect any part of the country.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
