Manila, Philippines - (Update as of 8:00PM) Some local government units (LGUs) and schools announced class suspensions for tomorrow, July 16, 2014 (Wednesday) due to inclement weather situation as typhoon 'Glenda' is expected to make landfall over Albay this evening. The advisories were released through social media Tuesday night, July 15.

It is reminded that the local government unit (LGU) has the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.

Weather bureau PAGASA said that Typhoon “GLENDA” is expected to make landfall over Albay this evening then cross the Bicol Region towards Southern Luzon. It is expected to pass Metro Manila before noon tomorrow (July 16) and in the vicinity of Bataan in the afternoon and will move towards the West Philippine Sea.
