Magnitude 5.7 earthquake hits Metro Manila, Luzon areas

Manila, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 5.7 earthquake that hit areas in Metro Manila and Luzon before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

The exact time of occurrence was recorded at 07:52:03 PM with epicenter 13.65°N, 120.54°E - 022 km S 27° W of Calatagan (Batangas).

The earthquake that occurred has a tectonic origin.

The temblor was felt at Intensity 5 in Puerto Galera; Intensity 4 in Bulacan and some areas in the National Capital Region; and Intensity 3 in Quezon City, Tagaytay City, Paig City, and Lucena City.

There is no expected damage after the quake, PHIVOLCS said.
