PRC, DOTC to give free MRT rides for Filipino professionals

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in coordination with the Department of Transportation and Communications – Metro Rail Transit 3 (DOTC-MRT3) announced that Filipino Professionals will get to ride the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3) for free on June 16, 2014 in celebration of the Professional Consciousness Week.

The free rides may be availed by all registered Filipino professionals only. They will have to present their valid and updated PRC IDs at the MRT3 Guards stationed at the service gate before being issued boarding passes. Upon arrival at their destination, registered Filipino professionals shall surrender their boarding passes to the guards at the service gate before exit.

Free ride is valid only on June 16, 2014 from 7:00AM to 10:00AM and from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.

The PRC was created as a national government agency by Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 223 on June 22, 1973. It was originally called the Office of the Boards of Examiners as created by Republic Act No. 546 on June 17, 1950, under the Civil Service Commission (CSC). The PRC is responsible for the administration, implementation, and enforcement of regulatory policies on the regulation and licensing of various professions and occupations under its jurisdiction.
