DOST Scholarship Exam Results AY 2014-2015

The Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) released results of September 2013 DOST Scholarship exam for academic year AY 2014-2015 on March 4, 2014. The list of passers out of 35,562 qualified graduating high school students who took the exam are now available here.

DOST Scholarship Exam Results 2014

DOST Scholarship exam was administered on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in 141 test centers nationwide. Meanwhile, exam in Zamboanga City and nearby provinces under DOST IX Regional Office was re-scheduled on October 27, 2013 due to ensuing crisis between government troops and the Moro National Liberation Front (MILF).

DOST Scholarship results will include qualifiers of undergraduate scholarships - RA7687 for qualified applicants who belong to families with low socio-economic status and MERIT for qualified applicants regardless of their families' socio-economic status.

Final selection of awardees to the different programs covered by DOST Scholarship shall be based either you're a qualifier in the S&T Scholarship Examination or your grades satisfy the program requirements and you have been duly endorsed by a school authority.

DOST-SEI said that the decision of the DOST Secretary on the selection of awardees is final and unappealable.

Meanwhile, the names of the awardees (passers) are usually published in leading newspapers and posted in the SEI website.

In 2013 DOST Scholarship exam, results were released on March 24, 2013 or four (4) months after the exam date. A total of 3,597 out of 25,696 high school students pass for the Undergraduate exams.

The Undergraduate Scholarship Programs of the Department of Science and Technology implemented by the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) are open yearly to talented and deserving students who wish to pursue 4- or 5- year courses in priority science and technology fields. The RA 7687 Scholarships and the Merit Scholarships both aim to produce and develop high quality human resources who will man the Science and Technology (S&T) and Research Development (R&D) efforts in the country.

DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo said the Department’s scholarship programs will provide the new awardees access to quality education in leading public and private institutions as it targets to substantially increase the number of scientists and engineers needed to boost economic productivity and knowledge creation in the country.

Specifically, the passers of 2014 DOST Scholarship exam will have the following privileges: tuition and other school fees ( P8,000/sem for RA7687 and Merit), book allowance of P5,000 per year, PE uniform allowance of P500 for the first semester of the year, transportation allowance and stipends.
