Winners of Youtube Music Awards (YTMAs) 2013 revealed

Youtube presented the music awards that honor the best in the music video medium on Sunday, November 3, 2013 (6PM EST) held at New York City's Pier 36 and was broadcasted live at Youtube.com/YTMA. The first Youtube Music Awards complete list of winners is available here.


YTMA Breakthrough of the Year: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won Breakthrough of the Year on YTMA 2013

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, a duo from Seattle, Washington, have emerged as a winner of Breakthrough of the Year award. The duo is the premier national hip-hop group known for their electrifying live shows, expertly crafted music, and innovative music videos and media. MTV reports that their single “Thrift Shop” has top 40 on the Billboard Top 100 chart and is still climbing, with a wildly popular music video (20 million+ views on YouTube) on heavy rotation on BET and MTV2.

Meanwhile, "I Knew You Were Trouble" topped the voting system for Youtube Phenomenon award as competed to "Gangnam Style" and "Harlem Shake". It is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her fourth studio album, Red (2012).

Eminem bagged this year's Artist of the Year Award on top of other nominees like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Psy and One Direction.
