PAGASA: 'Bagyong Vinta' is outside PAR today | November 1, 2013

Manila, Philippines - PAGASA on Friday at 11AM (November 1, 2013), issued weather update, forecast for Typhoon “Vinta”. 'Bagyong Vinta' according to weather bureau continues to move away from the country.

At 10:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon “VINTA” was located based on all available data at 190 km West Northwest of Laoag City (19.1°N, 118.8°E).

Typhoon Vinta has a maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph . It is forecast to move West Northwest at 22 kph.

Typhoon “VINTA” is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this afternoon. By tomorrow morning, it is expected to be at 660 km West Northwest of Laoag City at 280 km South of Hong Kong.

Public Storm Warning Signal # 1(Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours) Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra and Ilocos Sur.

PAGASA advise that estimated rainfall amount is from 5.0 - 15.0 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon. Sea travel is risky over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon and over the western seaboard of Central Luzon.

PAGASA said that the whole country will have generally fair weather apart from isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening by Saturday (November 2).
