Bagyong 'Odette' PAGASA weather forecast, update | September 16, 2013

Manila, Philippines - The weather bureau PAGASA on Monday, September 16, 2013 issued first bulletin alert for Typhoon 'Odette'.

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) at East of Casiguran has developed into a Tropical Depression.

At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression or Bagyong “ODETTE” was estimated based on all available data at 930 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (17.2°N, 132.1°E).

Typhoon 'Odette' has a maximum winds of 45kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 7 kph.

Typhoon “ODETTE” is expected to be at 830 km East of Tuguegarao City by tomorrow afternoon and at 680 km East of Tuguegarao City by Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday afternoon, it is expected to be at 530 km East of Appari, Cagayan.

"ODETTE" will not yet affect any part of the country. However, it will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and Occidental Mindoro.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin.
