Party-list winners for Election 2013 named

Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday, May 24, 2013 announced list of winners for party-list representatives in the recently concluded midterm elections.

Eleven days after national poll, partial list of winners named. There are 14 out of 58 winning groups who got sure seats in the House of Representatives even though canvassing of votes is not yet finished.

The 14 winning party-list groups already proclaimed by NBoC are:

2. A-Teacher
3. Bayan Muna
4. 1-Care
5. Akbayan
6. Abono
7. Ako Bicol
8. OFW Family
9. Gabriela
10. Coop-NATCCO
11. AGAP
12. CIBAC
13. Magdalo
14. An Waray

Based on the Comelec's latest partial, official tally as of Monday, Buhay garnered 1,255,734 votes while A Teacher and Bayan Muna got 1,033,873 and 945,639 votes respectively.

Next batch of proclaimed party-lists named on Tuesday, May 28. The list below got 1 congressional seat each.

Buhay garnered 1,265,992 votes which helped them to secure maximum three (3) seats in the 16th Congress.

There are a total of 58 seats for 111 competing party-list groups in the House of Representatives. 53 out of 58 seats already announced. Comelec still consider the remaining 36,000 votes which can still affect the final results.

"There are votes for party-list groups still to be canvassed by the NBOC and in order not to prejudice the proclamation of other parties, which may later on be established to be entitled to a seat or additional seats, only party-list groups that obtained at least two percent of the votes cast for party-list will each be allocated with one guaranteed seat," said the resolution.

Additional seat/s is determined by a formula depending on the number of votes garnered, with no party winning more than three seats.
