Trending on the Twitter Philippines Thursday evening, 'Oblivion' star Tom Cruise died on a single vehicle crash between Ipswich and Willowbank in Queensland. The report was alledgely confirmed by Royal Queensland Police - April 11, 2013.

"The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +10). Tom Cruise is believed to have been in the area while on vacation. He was identified by photo ID found at the scene. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident.", Global Association News (GAN) said.

Netizens react on Twitter and many are asking if the story posted by GAN is true.TheSummitExpress verified the breaking news. As we have checked the website, it says that story is 100% fake, a hoax! Site claims that articles posted on their page is a complete work of fiction and just for entertainment.


This is not the first time that a famous icon trended on Twitter and became a victim of a hoax news. John Cena was also a victim last 2012 with the news spreads on social media via spam link.

TheSummitExpress suggests that there should have a watchdog to report and provide necessary actions for the originator of hoax.
