Typhoon Pablo Update: PAGASA raises Storm Signal for VISMIN

In 11 a.m. weather bulletin released by PAGASA-DOST, storm signal has been raised in most part of Mindanao and Visayas. Typhoon Pablo "BOPHA" already at PAR as reported Sunday evening.

Public storm warning signal (PSWS)  #3 has been issued  Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Siargao, Dinagat, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Davao Oriental. Meanwhile, PSWS No. 2 (61-100 kph winds)  is raised on Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley for Mindanao and Southern Leyte and Bohol for Visayas.

PSWS No. 1 (30-60 kph winds) is also raised with the following areas affected of the storm: Zamboanga Provinces, Lanao Provinces, Davao del Sur, North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Eastern Samar, Western Samar, Leyte, Biliran, Aklan ,Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Cebu and Siquijor.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 30 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 600 km diameter of the Typhoon.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under public storm warning signal #3 and signal #2 are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this Typhoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern Seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.

Typhoon "PABLO" has maintained its strength and is now heading towards Surigao Provinces.

As of 10am, the location of center of typhoon Pablo is at 550 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur with coordinates of 6.9°N, 131.4°E. Pablo has a maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.

Tomorrow morning, Pablo is expected position is at 30 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and 150 km West of Iloilo City the following day. On Thursday morning, PAGASA said that Pablo will be at 400 km West of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today, PAGASA said.
