So. Korea rocket launch on October 26, 2012; NDRRMC declares 'no fly zone' and no sail zone' areas

So. Korea announces to launch a rocket that will send a satellite on October 26, 2012. Launch will be held in Naro Space Center in in Goheung County.

The NDRRMC on Tuesday declares 'no fly' and 'no sail' zone for the areas affected of the trajectory of the rocket launch.

“Our concern is to prepare for possible harm from the debris. Our concern is the safety of the Filipino people,” Ramos said. “Binigyan tayo ng info ng DFA, sa 26 October magpalipad [ang South Korea] ng satellite, 3:30 Korean time. Sa atin delayed one hour, mga 2:30 p.m. ang launch nito.”

Among the areas where fishing and flying will be prohibited during the window time are:
- Legaspi in Albay in Bicol
- Samar, Leyte in Eastern Visayas
- Surigao del Norte and Sur, Siargao, Dinagat

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) on the other hand is also alert for the possible change of date of the launch. It is said that if it will not be pushed-thru by October 26, the alert will remain up to October 31, 2012.
