From Wikipedia.com, Eid-al-Adha or Festival of Sacrifice is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isma'il) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a sheep to sacrifice instead.

In this religious activity, Eid Adha prayer is being performed by men but those in good health.Women are optional to attend and activity excludes sick people.

The Eid al-Adha prayer is performed anytime after the sun completely rises up to just before the entering of Zuhr time. The time for Zuhr is from when the sun has passed its zenith and a man’s shadow is equal in length to his height, until the time for ‘Asr comes.” So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) defined the start and the end of the time for Zuhr.

Eid al-Adha begins in the evening of Thursday, 25 October 2012, and ends in the evening of Friday, 26 October 2012.

Through advance announcement of holidays, Filipinos can now plan for their activities, getaways and vacations. But the most important thing is to give respect for the purpose of holiday.
