Update: Jesse Robredo and 2 pilots still missing

Search and rescue operations to locate DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo  and two other pilots is still ongoing and the hope that they are  alive is still strong. Update: Jesse Robredo body found, died at 54

"Hanggang hindi namin nakikita ang katawan niya ay kami naniniwala na si Secretary Robredo ay buhay po siya," Jun Labadia, spokesperson of the Robredo family and a very close friend of the missing secretary, said in a television interview on Monday morning.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon, around 4pm or one hour after the six-seater Piper Seneca plane left Mactan, Cebu with Robredo, P/Senior Insp. Jun Abrazado and two more persons, pilot Jessup Bahinting and his Nepali co-pilot Kshitiz Chand were onboard. The plane crashed near the coast of Masbate. Abrazado, Robredo's aide was the first survivor after a fisherman rescued him.

Prayer vigils at the home of Robredo in Naga City and at the Greenhills campus of the De La Salle University in San Juan City were held this day for the successful rescue of the Interior secretary and the two pilots.
